State police at Hazleton reported on the following incidents investigated by troopers involving area residents.
• Troopers reported a 63-year-old woman from Beaver Meadows, Carbon County, reported a theft incident on Nov. 21. She reported someone contacted her by email telling her that her computer’s virus protection had to be renewed. She contacted the person by phone. She then purchased Best Buy and Target gift cards totaling $6,000 and provided the numbers for the gift cards.
• A 77-year-old man from Hudson Drive, Packer Township, Weatherly, Carbon County, reported someone placed roofing nails on a dirt roadway that leads to his property, sometime between Nov. 20 and 21. This caused damage to tires on his vehicles. Damages were estimated at $350.
• On Nov. 16 at 3 p.m. troopers were dispatched to Broad Street in Beaver Meadows for a report of a juvenile female out-of-control. On scene troopers learned a 12-year-old girl had broken objects in the home and became physical with a 43-year-old woman by shoving her and causing injury.
The juvenile was charged with harassment - physical contact.
