This week, Polk Township supervisors addressed the following business.
• The roadmaster reported significant wind damage to trees during the last two storms and said it would be cleaned up.
• A conversation about Klingel’s Tree Service in Kunkletown removing other dying trees in the township took place, but no decision was made.
• Two loads of salt have been ordered and one has been delivered to be prepared for early bad weather.
• All the used equipment township advertised on Municibid has sold.
• Line painting on the Polk Township roads will not resume until spring 2021.
• Monroe County Tax Collection Committee signed a 10-year contract with Berkheimer to collect earned income tax. Berkheimer’s commission for 2021 earned income tax will go from 1.25% to 1.55%.
New business
• The 2021 budget was presented and the taxes will not be increased.
• Park meetings were canceled for November and December.
• A planning commission meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 9.
• Budget adoption meeting will be at 7 p.m. Dec. 21.
• The supervisors’ next regular meeting is at 7 p.m. Dec. 21.
