Fire companies from three communities responded to a brush fire Thursday morning in Rush Township. The fire was reported at 11:30 a.m. along Grier Avenue near a residence.

Neighbors reported the homeowner was burning brush when strong winds carried the flames into a nearby wooded area.

Area fire police blocked off the roadway as firefighters fought the flames. No injuries were reported in the incident.
