The Tamaqua Area United Way Campaign surpasses its $90,000 goal for 2006 when the total of $121,297 was unveiled on the tote board at the campaign’s appreciation breakfast held at Leiby’s Restaurant, South Tamaqua.
Randy M. Kalce of Air Products and Chemicals, Hometown, was the chairman of the drive, which received a substantial boost of $54,385 from the company that employs him.
“A goal is the difference between where we are and where we want to go,” said Kalce, adding, “A team is a group that works together to achieve a common goal. You did a great job.”
Kalce was assisted by Serge Chrush of the Sovereign Bank, who will chair the 2007 campaign.
