CCTI reports virus case

Carbon Career & Technical Institute announced Sunday that an individual from our school tested positive for COVID-19.

“When the school was informed of the positive case, we immediately contacted the Pennsylvania Department of Health to seek guidance. Communication occurred regarding risk assessment,” administrative director David Reinbold said. “After this consultation, it was determined that no students were identified as being at risk, quarantine is not recommended for any students, and school will remain open.”

He added, “Though this confirmed case did not trigger a closure, please be aware that since Carbon County is now in the Substantial Transmission Stage future multiple cases within a 14-day period may lead to short- term closures (three, five, fourteen days.)”

Reinbold said all of the buildings are disinfected daily.
