Fern Ridge State Police report on incidents

State police at the Fern Ridge barracks reported on the following incidents:

• Police are investigating a criminal mischief incident that was reported to them at 7:13 p.m. Oct. 25.

Police said someone shattered a store window at the Auto Zone, 1463 Route 209, Chestnuthill Township (Brodheadsville) by an unknown means.

The damages are estimated at $800.

• Samantha Saurina, 31, of East Stroudsburg, is facing drug possession charges after a traffic stop at 2:10 p.m. Sept. 22 on Interstate 80 in Tobyhanna Township.

Police said they stopped her while she was driving a 2011 Chevrolet Impala, after which time multiple indicators of criminal activity were discovered.

After the woman refused to allow police to search the vehicle, a K-9 alerted them to a probable cause search that yielded the discovery of a small amount of heroin and drug paraphernalia.

• Police cited Benjamin Goldman, 60, of Woohawken, New Jersey, for false alarms/dialing devices after they were called to a residence in Chestnuthill Township for what ended up being a sixth false alarm.

The burglar alarm sounded at the Toll Road residence at 2:02 a.m. Oct. 31.

Police found the building secured and learned it was the sixth false alarm at the location.

• A 32-year-old Blakeslee man was cited with harassment by communications after the victim went to the barracks to report he continually text messaged her after being told not to do so.

The incident was reported Nov. 2 by a 24-year-old woman from Rolling Pines Drive, Saylorsburg, Chestnuthill Township.
