The Carbon County commissioners, on Thursday, acted on the following items:

• Approved a renewal agreement with American United Life Insurance Company, a One America Company, for employee life insurance at a two-year rate of $4.70 per employee per month, effective Jan. 1, 2021. This represents an increase of $0.65 cents per employee per month.

• Approved a change order to a contract with Mid Atlantic Storage Systems Inc. of Washington Court House, Ohio for additional water used at the prison during the water storage tank maintenance project. This change order increases the proposal $15,719.07 for a new contract total of $172,311.07.

• Hired Shelly Navarre of Palmerton, part-time K-9 officer, animal shelter, effective Oct. 9.

• Approved a change of status for Daniel G. Zeigler of Lake Harmony from captain trainee to chief deputy trainee, sheriff’s office, effective Nov. 5.
