Three hurt in Chestnuthill ATV rollover

Three people suffered minor injuries in an ATV rollover where alcohol was involved at 10:19 p.m. Oct. 24 in Chestnuthill Township.

State police at Fern Ridge barracks said the driver of the ATV, Ashley C. Okonsky, 31, of Wind Gap, and two passengers, Ashley C. Mahrs, 32, of Harborcreek, and Michael E. Bortz, 34, of Saylorsburg, were transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital-Pocono, East Stroudsburg, by West End Ambulance personnel.

Police said the ATV crashed at the intersection of Greenview Drive and Dry Goose Run. They said Okonsky went around a left curve, left the road, hit a tree, then rolled over one or two times before coming to rest on its passenger side, blocking the right lane.

Police said Okonsky was cited for driving for driving an ATV on the street while Mahrs and Bortz were charged with restrictions on alcoholic beverages.

The ATV, a 2020 Polaris Ranger, was towed from the scene.
