Tamaqua Police Log

Tamaqua police reported on the following arrests.

• Justin Adam Gray, 29, of 248 Cedar St., Tamaqua, is facing charges of simple assault and harassment for an incident on Oct. 18.

Police said at 4:40 a.m. they were dispatched to Gray’s residence for a report of a domestic dispute. On scene the victim was found outside on a porch upset and crying. She said Gray had hit her. Gray admitted arguing with the woman and also that he struck her and choked her.

• Edward Paul Brode, 73, of 230 Orwigsburg St., Tamaqua, is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, harassment, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness for an incident on Oct. 17.

Police said at 4:55 p.m. they were dispatched to the 100 block of Orwigsburg Street for a report of Brode cursing and in a intoxicated state. On scene police spoke to a neighbor who said he had an ongoing problem with Brode cursing him and harassing him and his family. He also said he felt Brode was under the influence of drugs.

Police said Brode who was “agitated, rambling and expressing flight of ideas.” He had a cigarette pack with a powder residue and other items inside. The items were immediately recognized as drugs and drug paraphernalia. Also found in the pack was a partially smoked marijuana cigarette. The powder substance tested positive for methamphetamine.

Brode was then charged.

• Frank Joseph Ditchey, of the 300 block of Schuylkill Ave., Tamaqua, was charged with disorderly conduct for an incident on Oct. 16 at 4:04 p.m. at the Wells Fargo Bank, 17 W. Broad St. Police responded to the bank for a report of a irate man, causing a disturbance inside the bank. Employees told police Ditchey entered the bank and attempted to make a transaction without proper identification. He then became agitated and refused to leave he premises.
