A Veterans Day breakfast for paid up members and one guest will be held on Nov. 14 at the former Happy’s Diner at 11 a.m.
Veterans Day parade
C.H. Berry American Legion Post 0173 has announced the cancellation of the annual Veterans Day parade due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The Legion Honor Guard will present a rifle salute at each of the monuments in town at 11 a.m. on Nov. 7.
Zion Lewistown
Pastor Jim Williams will officiate at the 10:30 a.m. service this Sunday at Zion Church Lewistown Valley. Please wear a mask.

St. John Lutheran
The Rev. Phyllis Wolford will officiate at the 9:15 a.m. Sunday service in St. John’s Lutheran Church. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and masks are required. Confirmation class will follow the worship service.

Primitive Methodist

Tamaqua Thrift Store
Thanks to its popularity, the Tamaqua Zion Lutheran Pop-up Thrift Store will remain open for limited hours in early November.
The store will be open Nov. 6 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Nov. 7 from noon to 4 p.m., Nov. 11 and 13 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Nov. 14 from noon to 4 p.m.
A limited menu of soups will be available for takeout. Masks must be worn and social distancing observed.
Zion Lutheran is located at Mauch Chunk and Greenwood streets.

Calvary Lewistown
Pastor Ralph Saunders will officiate at the 10:25 a.m. Sunday service in Calvary Evangelical United Methodist Church. Sunday school classes are held at 9:15 a.m. Sunday evening service at 6:30 p.m. is a time of singing, caring and sharing.
Other activities: Nov. 11, prayer and praise service at 7 p.m. Nov. 22 will be the Thanksgiving and harvest home service.
