Three candidates have emerged to fill a vacancy on Bowmanstown Borough Council.

Two of those applicants were interviewed before the start of Tuesday’s budget workshop.

Kristy Spairana and Wendy Borger took turns answering several questions posed by council.

The third candidate who applied for the post, Donna Winter, was not in attendance.

Council expects to appoint a new member when it meets at 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Last month, council on a 5-0 vote accepted the resignation of Councilwoman Candace Rodrigues.

Rodrigues resigned because she is moving out of state.

Rodrigues was appointed to the seat in February, and replaced her father, Joseph Rodrigues, who had to step down due to his work schedule.
