A man was seriously injured Tuesday afternoon when struck by a vehicle in Tamaqua.

The incident occurred about 3 p.m. to the rear of 141 North Railroad St. on a private lot.

The victim suffered a serious leg injury. He was treated at the scene by members of the Tamaqua ambulance and Lehighton paramedics before being transported to a Lehigh Valley area trauma center. Tamaqua police are investigating the incident.
