State police at Lehighton report on crashes

State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes:

• A Carbon County driver is facing a charge of driving under the influence following a one-vehicle crash.

Police said a 23-year-old man from Lehighton, who they declined to identify, was operating a 2005 Honda Civic along Main Road in Franklin Township, about 2 p.m. on Oct. 24 when the vehicle left the road and struck a wire fence at 634 Main Road.

Troopers said the man was under the influence of drugs and taken to the Lehighton hospital for a blood draw. Charges are pending.

• State police at Lehighton reported on the following crashes investigated by troopers. A one-vehicle crash was reported at 7:19 a.m. on Oct. 24 along Forest Inn Road, Towamensing Township, in Carbon County. Sandra M. Breiner, 26, of Palmerton, was driving a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer northbound when she swerved to avoid a deer on the roadway, and struck a postal sign along the berm.

Breiner was not injured but her vehicle had to be towed.

• A Schuylkill County driver was cited following a hit-and-run crash that occurred at 9:43 p.m. on Oct. 24 along Centre Street in Parryville.

Troopers said Sara A. Boczkowski, 35, of Mahanoy City, was driving a 2014 Ford Escape when she backed up in a parking lot at the Riverwalck Bar, and struck a parked 2009 Chevrolet Limo in the rear bumper area. Boczkowski then fled the scene.

A witness provided information that led to Boczkowski.
