The matchups are set for the District 11 football playoffs.

Eight Times News area teams qualified for the postseason, which begins with games this Friday and Saturday.

Northern Lehigh is the highest-seeded area team at No. 2 in the Class 2A bracket, and will host seventh seed Schuylkill Haven (2-6) in the quarterfinals. The Bulldog finished the regular season 3-3.

Palmerton, which defeated Northern Lehigh 31-26 in the regular season finale on Friday and finished the year 2-4, is seeded third and could face the Bulldogs again in the semis with a win over No. 6 Pen Argyl (2-4).

Panther Valley (2-6) is the No. 8 seed in Class 2A and will face top seed Palisades (5-2).

Jim Thorpe (6-2) is seeded third in the four-team Class 3A bracket and will play No. 2 seed Notre Dame Green Pond (6-0).

On the other side, defending Class 3A champion Tamaqua (5-3) is seeded fourth and will play top seed North Schuylkill (6-0).

The Class 4A bracket also features two area teams.

Northwestern (6-1) is seeded third in the eight-team bracket, and will host No. 6 Blue Mountain (4-4) in the quarterfinals.

Lehighton (3-5) is the No. 7 seed and will travel to second seed Pottsville (6-1) for a quarterfinal matchup. The Tide topped the Indians 48-0 in Week 3 during the regular season.

In Class 6A, Pleasant Valley (1-2) earned the eight seed and will travel to top seed Nazareth (6-0) in the quarters.
