St. John XXIII parish in Tamaqua cancels public masses

The Rev. John Frink of St. John XXIII parish in Tamaqua has canceled public masses this weekend because two staff members at the parish tested positive for COVID-19.

One tested positive on Friday and the other tested positive last week.

Frink is in quarantine until Thursday and will be getting tested on Monday. He sent an email to his congregation saying that he last had contact with the staff member on Oct. 22. He said he has no symptoms at this time.

Frink is asking people to watch Mass via livestream at 10:30 a.m. on Sunday. He will continue his daily broadcasts but no public Masses will be held until at least Friday.
