The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported Saturday that there 2,510 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 208,027. Daily increases are now the highest they have ever been since the start of the pandemic.
There are 8,812 deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 28 new deaths reported.
In nursing and personal care homes, there are 26,149 resident cases of COVID-19, and 5,653 cases among employees, for a total of 31,802 at 1,070 distinct facilities in 63 counties. Out of our total deaths, 5,807 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.
Approximately 12,448 of our total cases are among health care workers.
Carbon County is reporting 611 cases, an increase of seven cases. Deaths attributed to COVID-19 have increased by one to 31.
Lehigh County is reporting 6,811 cases, an increase of 113. Another death is reported for a total of 366.
Luzerne County reported an increase of 78 cases, bringing the total to 5,545. Deaths have increased by seven for a total of 206.
Monroe County has 27 new cases, bringing the total to 2,069. Deaths remain at 135.
Northampton County has 5,568 cases, an increase of 87 cases. Three more deaths have been reported for a total of 315 deaths.
Schuylkill County has 2,152 cases, an increase of 42 cases. Six more deaths have been reported for a total of 97 deaths.
