October 29, 1954 - Tamaqua scores the first time it touches the ball and never trails in posting a 25-7 victory over Shenandoah. The Blue Raiders, coached by Bob Hartwig, march 66 yards in 10 plays to gain the early advantage. Ralph Miller connects with Luther Miller on a 24-yard touchdown pass to complete the opening drive. A fumble recovery by Tim Couch sets up a 2-yard TD run by Joe Thomas. Couch factors again in the next Tamaqua score as his blocked punt is recovered by Joe Lusky for a touchdown. The winners complete their scoring in the third period when Ted Snyder crashes into the end zone from two yards out.
