October 27, 2001 - Lehighton’s Shane Smith carries 14 times for 105 yards and two touchdowns to help the Indians earn a 19-3 Mountain Valley Conference victory over East Stroudsburg. Smith gives his team the lead for good in the opening quarter on a 2-yard scoring run, which is set up by a fourth-down conversion pass from Dedan Brozino to Pete Balogach. Brozino connects with Will White on another fourth-down call in the second frame to set up a 6-yard TD toss between the pair later in the drive. The winners, coached by Bill Brong, add an insurance score in the final frame when Smith breaks free for a 43-yard run to the end zone.
