Pocono Mountain Regional police will be conducting crosswalk enforcement along Route 611 in Mount Pocono in the upcoming days.

Specifically, police will be enforcing the state vehicle code which gives pedestrians the right-of-way in crosswalks. Police are reminding the motoring public that vehicles must yield to a pedestrian in the crosswalk or crossing at an intersection. The purpose of the operation is to identify motorists who fail to yield to pedestrians and enforce applicable law. Police hope to improve and increase pedestrian and roadway safety within Mount Pocono and roadways in general.
