Mayor Francis Helferty, Jim Thorpe, was installed as Faithful Navigator of the Lafayette Assembly, Knights of Columbus No. 2522 during an impressive ceremony on Saturday night in the Columbian Home, Palmerton.

Associate officers also taking office were Captain, Joseph Lendvay, Palmerton; Pilot, Thomas Martino, Jim Thorpe; Comptroller, Joseph Szoke, Palmerton; Scribe, Charles Campton, Palmerton; Purser, Stephen Yelinko, Palmerton; Inside Sentinel, Frank Vargo, Palmerton; Outside Sentinel, Frank Besek, Nesquehoning; and Admiral, William Carroll, Jim Thorpe.

Thomas Conway, Philadelphia, Master of the First Province Fourth Degree, Knights of Columbus, was the installing officer.
