A 78-year-old hunter was injured Friday morning after his tree stand failed, causing him to fall to the ground. The hunter was hunting deer with a muzzle loader rifle in a remote area of Blythe Township east of the Burma road. A cable holding the tree stand broke, causing the mishap. Fire companies from St. Clair and Pottsville responded to the scene along with the Schuylkill paramedics.
