Hot air balloons will glow in the night sky over Slatington Friday night.
‘A Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Glow Festival and Trick or Treat’ will take place at Slatington Airport from 2-9:30 p.m.
More than a dozen tethered, glowing hot air balloons, including a special shape or two, will be on display along the mile-long runway.
The event is hosted by Lehigh Valley Hot Air and sponsored by E F Laudenslager Propane.
Gates open at 2 p.m. for lawn seats.
The drive through event, which is sold out, begins at 6 p.m., and balloons begin inflating at 6:15 p.m. All drive through vehicles will enter and exit from the airport main entrance.
Tethered balloon rides are available for all ages, weather permitting, for $20 (with paid admission). Full-length balloon rides are also available.
DJ Cap Cee will provide Halloween music, and a fireworks show will conclude the event at 9 p.m.
While drive thru tickets are sold out, lawn tickets for the event are still available at $15 for children 10 and under and and $29.99 for adults.
The event also features concessions, small amusement rides, a craft and vendor fair, and 50-50 drawing.
Costumes are optional but encouraged, and kids under 10 will receive a trick or treat bag while supplies last.
Masks are required in all common areas.
