Tamaqua Superintendent Ray Kinder announced at Tuesday night’s school board meeting that the varsity football team will play on Friday.
However, the Raiders’ opponent will be Pittston, instead of North Schuylkill, which was the originally scheduled game. The contest with the Spartans was canceled for precautionary reasons regarding COVID-19.
“All of our fall sports are winding down and we want to congratulate all of our athletes on their success this year,” said Kinder.
Tamaqua’s homecoming has been moved to the following week, when the Raiders are scheduled to play Pine Grove.
