The Pleasant Valley girls soccer team posted an impressive win on Tuesday.
GIRLS SOCCER
Stroudsburg-Pleasant Valley
Five different players scored and Pleasant Valley rolled to a 5-0 Eastern Pennsylvania Conference victory over Stroudsburg.
Ella Muir, Alexa Weaver, Teah Cardoza, Larissa Mulligan and Autumn Castro all had goals for the Bears (4-1). Cardoza had two assists. Trinity Treulieb, Aliyah Williams and Brittany Williams also were credited with assists.
Sam Merklin made five saves to record her fifth shutout of the season. The junior now has 26 career shutouts, a school record.
FIELD HOCKEY
Northern Lehigh-Pen Argyl
Pen Argyl edged Northern Lehigh in Colonial League action, 2-1.
Erica Weaver and Mikayla Velasquez scored goals for the Green Knights, while Shawna Mamrak added an assist.
Brooke Nonnemacher had the Bulldogs’ goal, while Gabby Meister provided an assist.
Lehighton-Whitehall
Lehighton blanked Whitehall, 1-0.
Lehighton improved to 4-10-1 with the win, while Whitehall slipped to 4-6.
