A bright future for Carbon County means planning now.
That’s why the Carbon Chamber and Economic Development, in collaboration with the county commissioners, Carbon County Office of Planning and Development, Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development, Audubon Pennsylvania, the Wildlands Conservancy and Natural Lands have teamed up to bring a virtual two-day seminar via Zoom for municipalities that will provide valuable information on planning for the future.
Kathy Henderson of CCEDC announced the webinar series “Planning Nuts and Bolts: Growing a Stronger Carbon County” on Thursday.
The webinar will take place from 4-6 p.m. on Oct. 22 and 29 and is open to all elected officials, planning commission members, environmental advisory council members, municipal staff and officials and anyone involved in the planning and land use decisions, recommendations and enforcement of their communities.
Session one will cover planning 101, while session two will be municipal resources and funding opportunities.
Henderson said the goal of the sessions will be to talk about zoning ordinances and codes, watershed and greenway plans and educate municipalities on funding that is out there to help them redo their zoning ordinances.
The webinars are provided through a grant through Audubon Pennsylvania, which is also available to municipalities.
The cost to attend both sessions is $10.
