State police report on DUI, harassment

State police at Lehighton reported on incidents in Carbon County.

• On Tuesday at 7:33 p.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2006 Honda Civic along Route 248 at Bowmanstown, for a traffic violation. The driver, Eugene Kochan, 25, of Palmerton, was taken into custody for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance.

• On Sunday at 8:52 p.m. troopers responded to Centre Street and Route 248 in Parryville, for a report of a man lying on the side of the road intoxicated. On scene troopers observed Paul Weber, 59, of Lehighton, being attended by medical personnel but refusing treatment.

He was escorted to his home and a charge of public drunkenness to be filed.

• Troopers said on Oct. 3 at 12:31 p.m. they responded to a residence along Owl Creek Road in Towamensing Township, for a report of harassment. A 44-year-old woman from Lehighton reported being harassed by communication by a man.

As a result, troopers said, Troy Johnson, 48, of Kunkletown, has been cited for harassment by communication.
