The Pennsylvania Department of Health Friday confirmed that there were 1,380 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 169,308. Philadelphia is reporting an increase of 135 cases. Schuylkill County had 22 new cases since Thursday.
There are 8,308 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of nine new deaths reported. In nursing and personal care homes, there are 23,717 resident cases of COVID-19, and 5,252 cases among employees, for a total of 28,969 at 1,002 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of our total deaths, 5,548 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities. Approximately 11,220 of our total cases are among health care workers.
Carbon County is reporting 496 cases, up from 492 on Thursday. Deaths attributed to COVID-19 remain at 29.
Lehigh County is reporting 5,901 cases, an increase of 26 from Thursday. There are 357 deaths.
Luzerne County reported an increase of 28 cases, bringing the total to 4,305. Deaths remain at 190.
Monroe County has four new cases, bringing the total to 1,852, with 134 deaths.
Northampton County has 4,737 cases, an increase of 23 cases. There are 307 deaths attributed to the virus.
Schuylkill County has 1,342 cases, an increase of 22. One more death has been reported for a total of 62.
