The Penn Forest Township supervisors began their meeting Monday night with a moment of silence in memory of Jim Scarpati, a supervisor who passed away on Sept. 8.
Scarpati, a retired teacher, served as supervisor since 1995 when he finished the term of Judith Knappenberger, who resigned at the time. He then won election in 1996 to a term that runs through the end of 2003.
By unanimous vote, the supervisors selected Kenny Bond, a former supervisor, to take Scarpati’s seat. Bond was sworn in by attorney Thomas Nanovic, solicitor.
