State police at Frackville reported on the following cases:

• On Sept. 19 at 6:39 p.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2001 Chevrolet Prizm along North Fourth Street and East Railroad Street, in Mahanoy City. The driver, Todd Jones, 37, of Mahanoy City, was found in possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was also found to be impaired. He was taken into custody for DUI.

• On Sept. 18 at 2:26 a.m. troopers conducted a traffic stop of a 2006 Ford F250 truck along Big Mine Run Road at Bast Avenue, in Butler Township. The driver, Matthew Maurer, 27, of Ashland, showed signs of intoxication and was placed under arrest for DUI and taken into custody.
