A Weissport resident is concerned with symbols of hate that appear on playground equipment.
Karla Nappi said the playground has a swastika and a KKK carved into the equipment, and noted this isn’t the first time the imagery has appeared in the borough.
“This is the second time in a year this hateful imagery has appeared,” Nappi said. “This is a disturbing pattern of behavior and it concerns me greatly that these symbols keep appearing.”
Nappi said a symbol on the bridge last year was promptly removed by PennDOT.
“(State) Rep. Doyle Heffley’s office directed me to PennDOT for the bridge, but said the playground was basically not their problem,” she said.
Attempts to reach borough officials were unsuccessful.
