Lehighton bakery serves as official breakfast team for movie filming in the LV
A Lehighton bakery is the official breakfast team for a movie filming in the Lehigh Valley.
Blended Bakery has been chosen to make some goodies for the cast of the film “Lucky Louie.”
For the past two weeks up through Oct. 19, the business is helping feed the cast and crew of the faith-based independent film.
The business was selected by an individual from an online group consisting of business owners, according to owner Christina Yurasits.
“I belong to a group, Carbon County Elite Networking,” Yurasits said. “One of the women has posted they were looking for someone on Facebook and they chose us to make some goodies, like doughnuts, scones, danishes.”
Yurasits said she was more than thrilled that her business gets a chance to broaden its horizons.
“It’s a really great experience, and it’s a great opportunity for us,” she said. “It makes me feel very honored, very proud that we have the opportunity to do something not only representing our community, and that we have such great talent here in Carbon County.”
Yurasits said her business has received various compliments.
“The production crew said that our Persian doughnuts are out of this world and they need us to move to California,” she said. “The makeup crew said I owe them a few tubes of lipstick and the costume fittings that I need to make the doughnuts smaller.”
Yurasits said her employees were “very excited. They’re like, ‘let’s go, let’s do it.’?”
“Our staff is over the moon, really excited we are having this opportunity,” she said. “We all talk about how we dream to keep growing and spread our wings a little bit further.”
Daniel Roebuck, a Bethlehem native, is the producer of the family-based movie that will be released sometime next year.
“Lucky Louie” is about a retired police officer who tries to solve a long-standing bank robbery.
