Veteran Carbon County promoter Agnes McCartney was honored on her retirement last night at the annual dinner meeting of the Pocono Mountains Vacation Bureau.
The testimonial, held at the Galleria at Split Rock Resort, Lake Harmony, was attended by 200 people, including Carbon and Monroe county commissioners, State Rep. Keith McCall, State Sen. James Rhoades, members of her family and co-workers throughout the years.
Robert Uguccioni, director of the bureau, served as master of ceremonies and said Carbon County and Jim Thorpe make up a success story attributed to Mrs. McCartney’s untiring efforts.
