Police report on regional crashes
State troopers reported on several local people who were involved in regional crashes:
• A one-vehicle crash was reported at 7:29 a.m. on Aug. 28 along Route 22 in Bethlehem Township, Northampton County. State police at Bethlehem said Salvador Andujar, 28, of Effort, was driving a 1998 Toyota 4-Runner eastbound in the left lane when a tire blew out causing him to lose control. The vehicle spun 360 degrees and came to final rest off the road. Andujar was not injured. The vehicle was towed.
• Another one-vehicle crash was reported at 4:28 a.m. on Sept. 6 along Route 873 in North Whitehall Township, Lehigh County. State police at Bethlehem said Samantha D. Wanamaker, 21, of Slatington, was driving a 2010 Nissan Sentra northbound when the vehicle left the road on the east side. The front bumper, hit with a mailbox, continued north and hit with another mailbox. It continued north and then struck a utility pole, sheering the pole in half. The Nissan continued northwest and re-entered the road and came to final rest in the southbound lane facing north.
Wanamaker was not injured but the Nissan sustained heavy front end damage.
She was cited for the crash.
• A Carbon County driver was one of four involved in a crash along Route 663 at 3:47 p.m. on Sept. 23 in Milford Township, Bucks County.
State police at Dublin said John Schaefer, 80, of Quakertown, driving a 2010 Dodge Journey, was westbound when he attempted to make a left turn onto Quaker Pointe Drive. Schaefer did not see a eastbound 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Allan L. Hascher, 51, of Nesquehoning. The front of Schaefer’s vehicle hit the front of Hascher’s vehicle. This caused Hascher’s vehicle to hit the front end of a 2017 GMA Savana driven by Barbara A. Glass, 48, of Quakertown, and a 2014 Chrysler Town & Country driven by Corinne M. Falgares, 35, of Quakertown, both who were stopped on Quaker Pointe Drive.
Schaefer had a minor injury and was taken to St. Luke’s Hospital, Upper Bucks. Hascher had a minor injury but was not transported.
Schaefer was cited for the crash.
• A Carbon County driver was involved in a two-vehicle crash in Berks County.
State police at Reading said the crash occurred at 9:58 p.m. on Sept. 26 along Mill Creek Road, Maxatawny Township. Troopers said Rachel K. Serfass, 20, of Lehighton, was driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt southbound while Joel S. Graff, 57, of Kutztown, was northbound driving a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado truck. Serfass was going around a right curve when she lost control of her vehicle, crossed over the double yellow line and struck Graff’s vehicle.
Serfass and Graff were not injured but a passenger with Graff, Tori A. Jones, 32, of Kutztown, sustained a possible injury but was not treated, troopers said.
Serfass was cited for the crash.
