A 22-year-old Girardville man was charged with terroristic threats after he threatened to burn down a home in Ashland, according to state police at the Frackville barracks.

Police said they were called to West Centre Street in Ashland at 6:49 p.m. Sept. 8, when the victim, a 38-year-old woman from Ashland, showed them text messages in which the man stated he was going to burn down her home. Police said they were given information about the man’s whereabouts and took him into custody as he was leaving that residence.
