Tamaqua police have charged a Mount Pocono man after a domestic incident in the borough.
Robert Dorian Stan, 21, of Holly Forest Road, Mount Pocono, is facing charges of robbery by force, theft, simple assault and criminal mischief.
Police said they received a call from the county communications center on July 24 from a woman who said she was assaulted by her boyfriend. Police spoke to the woman who identified Stan as the boyfriend who was residing at her apartment. She said the two had argued earlier and she left for a time.
She then returned to get some things before going to work. At the apartment Stan demanded the woman’s cellphone. She refused and he grabbed hold of her and left a mark on her upper right chest. He then managed to get the phone from her and smashed it and threw it down some stairs.
The female then left the apartment and went to her car, where a co-worker was waiting to go to work with her. He said he saw Stan leave the apartment and smash the windshield and hood of the vehicle.
Police then spoke to Stan, who gave a statement admitting to the acts described by the woman.
