A Schuylkill County driver was involved in a rear-end crash in Lehigh County on Aug. 19, in which he was cited.

State police at Fogelsville said Frank Z. Baker, 59, of Andreas, operating a 2007 Lincoln-Continental MKX, and Doris L. Hoffman, 76, of Breinigsville, driving a 2019 Toyota Camry, were both traveling southbound on Route 100, in Lowhill Township, at 5:57 p.m. when Hoffman, began to slow down due to traffic ahead of her.

Baker, traveling behind Hoffman, did not have time to react and apply his brakes.

The front of Baker’s vehicle hit the rear of Hoffman’s vehicle.

Baker was treated at the scene by Cetronia EMS personnel for a minor head injury. Hoffman was evaluated by EMS personnel but was not injured. The Toyota could not be driven from the scene due to electrical problem caused by the crash.

The Continental was driven from the scene.

Troopers cited Baker for following too closely.
