The Pennsylvania Department of Health reported Thursday that there are 587 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 141,877.

There are 7,820 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 15 new deaths reported.

In nursing and personal care homes, there are 21,644 resident cases of COVID-19, and 4,702 cases among employees, for a total of 26,346 at 946 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of our total deaths, 5,280 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities.

Approximately 9,968 of our total cases are among health care workers.

Locally, Carbon County has 431 cases with 28 deaths.

Lehigh County remained at 5,329 cases, with 345 deaths.

Luzerne County has 3,913 cases, an increase of three, with 189 deaths.

Monroe County is reporting eight new cases for a total of 1,750. There are 129 deaths.

Northampton has 4,196 cases, an increase of 10. There are 302 deaths.

Schuylkill County remained at 1,023 cases and 51 deaths.
