Monday virus update: 547 new cases; Pa. count to 139,863

The Pennsylvania Department of Health Monday confirmed 547 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 139,863. In nursing and personal care homes, there are 21,430 resident cases of COVID-19, and 4,613 cases among employees, for a total of 26,043 at 947 distinct facilities in 61 counties. Out of our total deaths, 5,240 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities. A county breakdown can be found here.

Approximately 9,901 of our total cases are among health care workers.

One more case was reported in Carbon County, bringing the total to 431, with 28 deaths.

Lehigh County has 5,308 cases, an increase of 15, with 345 deaths.

Luzerne County has 3,894 cases, an increase of 12 cases, with 189 deaths.

Monroe County is reporting two new cases for a total of 1,739. There are 129 deaths.

Northampton has 4,173 cases, an increase of 15. There are 301 deaths.

Schuylkill County has six new cases for a total of 1015 cases and 51 deaths.
