Traffic stops result in charges in Schuylkill

State police at Frackville reported on the following charges, all as the result of traffic stops. In each incident, troopers declined to release the name of the suspect.

• A stop was made at 9:12 a.m. on Aug. 22 along Florida Avenue at North Wyoming Avenue, in West Mahanoy Township, which resulted in the arrest of a 33-year-old Shenandoah man. He was determined to be under the influence of several different controlled substances. He also had a felony warrant for his arrest issued out of another county. He was taken into custody and consented to a blood draw. He was then taken to the county prison in Pottsville on the outstanding warrant. A DUI charge is pending.

• A stop was conducted at 1:01 a.m. on Aug. 22 at North Main and East Lloyd streets, in Shenandoah. The 42-year-old male driver from Zion Grove, Schuylkill County, was found to be in possession of marijuana. Charges to be filed.

• A stop was conducted on Aug. 21 at 10:30 p.m. at North Main and Lloyd streets in Shenandoah. The 41-year-old male driver from Shenandoah was suspected of being under the influence of a controlled substance. He was also found with suspected methamphetamine. He was taken into custody and consented to a blood draw. Charges to be filed.

• On Aug. 20 at 2:58 p.m. a stop was made along Interstate 81 in Frailey Township. The 54-year-old male driver from Kingston, Luzerne County, was found to be heavily under the influence of alcohol. He was operating a commercial 2018 Hino truck at the time. He was taken into custody and transported to the barracks where he submitted to a breath test, resulting in a 0.23 BAC. Charges to be filed.
