Mass on Monday
Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Gilbert, is offering a Labor Day Mass on Monday at 12:10 p.m.
The church office will be closed.
OTOH meeting
The next meeting of Operation: Touch of Home is slated for 7 p.m. Tuesday at the American Legion Post in Gilbert.
Said meeting will take place under the pavilion.
Pizza sale
McMichaels UMC is holding a pizza sale. Orders must be placed by calling Martha at 570-992-6742 by Sept. 10, for cheese pizza only.
Pickup is at McMichaels UMC by noon on Sept. 19.
Auxiliary meets
The Post 927 Legion Auxiliary is slated to meet at 7 p.m. Sept. 9. The executive committee will meet at 6 p.m.
Soup sale set
Effort UMC church is holding a soup sale as of Sunday past and continuing through Sept. 23.
Soups are loaded baked potato and/or beef barley.
The pickup date is Sept. 27.
Call the church office for cost per quart and to place an order or sign up on Sunday morning before or after attending worship.
Pantry
The West End Food Pantry in Kunkletown will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon. The next open date is Sept. 19.
Eldred cleanup
The fourth annual Eldred Township cleanup day has been announced for Sept. 25 and 26.
Friday’s hours are from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Saturdays are from 9 a.m. to noon.
It will take place at Eldred Township Municipal Building, 490 Kunkletown Road, Kunkletown.
Items too large for the trash such as tires of various sizes will require a fee, as will metal items such as old grills, bicycles, bed frames, etc.
Plastics such as plastic lawn furniture, lawn ornaments, children’s pools, etc. will also require a fee, as will glass items such as mirrors, windows (intact), table tops, etc.
This is the last day for electronics recycling for the year.
Drop-off is at the Municipal Building in the rear at 490 Kunkletown Road, Kunkletown.
