August 31, 1984 - Nine different Palmerton players score goals as the Blue Bombers open their field hockey season with a 9-0 non-league victory over Jim Thorpe. Carolyn Goodrich, Kim Mizack and Gena Moyer all tally in the first half to give Palmerton, coached by Barb Jones, a 3-0 lead. The Bombers, who outshoot their opponent by a whopping 39-0, put the game away in the second half with six goals. Scoring in that second half are Susan Endres, Pam Schanstine, Betsy Bradbury, Amy Cebrosky, Lori Thomas and Amy Whiteman.
