A Shenandoah woman was identified as a homicide victim of a stabbing Sunday.
Deputy Coroner Andrew Szczyglak identified the woman as April Mahmod, 36, who died on a neighbor’s porch.
“She died on the front porch of 104 (S. Catherine St.),” Szczyglak said.
Szczyglak said he was dispatched at 6:15 a.m. for the incident. He said Mahmod was stabbed “multiple times.” State police are investigating.
“They have a suspect, but I’m not sure if they have him in custody yet,” Szczyglak said.
State Police Trooper David Boehm didn’t have additional information to share.
Szczyglak said a virtual autopsy is scheduled for Monday. Schuylkill County Coroner David J. Moylan III said an autopsy will be conducted at The Dauphin County Forensic Center later this week. A date has not been determined, he said.
