Carbon County Friends of Animals will be having a drive-thru picnic and Chinese auction on Saturday at the shelter, located at 77 W. 13th St., Jim Thorpe. The Chinese auction will continue on Sunday.
The picnic will be held from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, while the Chinese auction will run from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days. In the event of rain, the drive-thru picnic will be moved to Sunday but the auction will remain on both days.
Food items that can be purchased Saturday include hamburgers, cheeseburgers and hot dogs. Each platter comes with your choice of pierogies or mac and cheese and includes a drink and cookies.
Bring an item on the shelter’s wish list and be entered to win a door prize. Items needed include wet canned cat food, HE Laundry detergent, paper towels, dish soap, antibacterial hand soap, rubber gloves, Purina Cat or Kitten Chow, and Lysol/Clorox wipes.
Masks are required to participate in the auction, and social distancing will be enforced.
