A look back: Aug. 27, 1982

Sister Ann Immaculata, I.H.M., the former Marie Gallagher of Lansford, celebrated her 25th anniversary as a member of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, at a celebration held at Immaculate College, where she is chairwoman of the Chemistry Department.

Sister Immaculata is the daughter of James Gallagher Sr. of Lansford and the late Catherine Gallagher, and a sister of Jeanne, wife of George Harvan, and James Jr., both of Lansford, Bernard of Tamaqua and Thomas of Summit Hill.

She graduated from St. Ann’s elementary and high schools, Lansford, Immaculata College and the University of Notre Dame, before starting in 1959 at Immaculata.
