The preliminary hearing for the York man charged with the death of Kyle Hagenbuch of Lehighton has been continued.
Dasean Damont Morris, 18, was due to appear in court Sept. 1; however, his next scheduled court date is 9 a.m. Sept. 25 on charges of criminal homicide, carrying a firearm without a license and marijuana possession.
An employee of Magisterial District Judge Linda Williams’ Office said Monday the date was scheduled incorrectly.
Morris remains in York County Prison because bail was denied due to the homicide charge.
Online court records list his attorney as Sandra Thompson of York. She did not return a call for comment.
York City Police arrested Morris Aug. 18 on a matter unrelated to the homicide after a traffic stop in the city.
Hagenbuch was shot July 31 outside in the area of 900 E. Clarke Ave. at 7:45 p.m. He died Aug. 2 at WellSpan York Hospital. His death was ruled a homicide.
Police interviewed witnesses and obtained video surveillance of the crime scene area and other locations before Morris’ arrest. Police also obtained search warrants.
