The Pennsylvania Department of Health today confirmed as of midnight that there are 735 additional positive cases of COVID-19, bringing the statewide total to 125,579.

Philadelphia reported 208 cases – a two-day total for Aug. 17 and Aug. 18.

There are 7,499 total deaths attributed to COVID-19, an increase of 31 new deaths reported.

Carbon County is reporting nine new cases for a total of 406 cases. There are 28 deaths.

Lehigh County had 12 new cases for a total of 5,085, with 341 deaths.

There were 3,633 cases in Luzerne County, an increase of 12, with 185 deaths.

Monroe County was reporting one more case, bringing the total to 1,670 cases and 125 deaths.

Northampton had 4,014 cases, an increase of one case. There was an additional death, bringing the total to and 296 deaths.

Schuylkill County reported two new cases, bringing the total to 952 cases, with 51 deaths.

Approximately 8,997 of our total cases are among health care workers.
