A vehicle stop in Carbon County led to the arrest of the driver on drug charges.
State police at Lehighton said troopers made the stop of a 1999 Volkswagen Passat at 5:35 p.m. on Tuesday along Interchange Road at Trachsville Road, in Franklin Township, in the area of the turnpike entrance.
The driver was identified as Kalah Smith, 23, of Allentown. Smith didn’t have a valid license. Inside the vehicle was an open alcoholic container and a small amount of marijuana.
It was also learned that she was wanted out of Northampton County for driving under the influence.
She was taken into custody on the warrant and placed in the county prison in Nesquehoning. Drug charges are pending.
