St. John Lutheran

The Rev. Phyllis Wolford will officiate at the 9:15 a.m. Sunday service at St. John Lutheran Church. Doors will open at 9 a.m. and everyone is required to wear a mask.

Calvary Lewistown

Pastor Ralph Saunders will offer the message at the 10:25 a.m. Sunday service, held at the Lewistown Valley Tabernacle, 614 Valley Road, Tamaqua.

For those who prefer staying in the car, the FM station will be available for listening or bring your lawn chair to sit outside. Sunday evening praise and worship is at 6:30 p.m.

Tamaqua library

The Tamaqua Public Library will hold a pie sale. Orders must be placed by Aug. 13 and be prepaid. Pickup is Aug. 26. Flavors available are blueberry crumb, apple crumb, strawberry rhubarb crumb, cherry crumb, double crust blueberry, double crust apple, double crust peach, double crust strawberry, shoofly, coconut crumb, lemon sponge, no-sugar apple.

Rush-Ryan Seniors

The Rush-Ryan-Delano senior citizens met on July 28 at Christ Church, Barnesville. Guests were welcomed with the reading “Nourishing.”

Betty Bablo was added to the sick list and Alice Tite was given a warm welcome.

2021 officers were sworn in by Robert Neifert, 2020 President. President, Gloria Gerhard; vice president, Cindy Godanis; secretary, Ruthann Feane; treasurer, Nancy Eisley.

The annual summer picnic will be held on Tuesday at St. Peter’s Grove, Locust Valley. Food will be served at noon, with basket raffle and bingo to follow.

The group meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at Christ Church, Barnesville at 1 p.m. Anyone 55 or older is invited to attend.
