Coroner rules Savages player's death a homicide

Kyle Hagenbuch, 26, the Carbon County man shot in York City Friday, died of a gunshot wound to the head, the York County Coroner’s Office said Wednesday.

His death has been classified as a homicide, the coroner’s office said based on the results of an autopsy conducted earlier this week.

The York City Police are still investigating.

Hagenbach was shot outside in the area of 900 East Clarke Avenue Friday and was pronounced dead Sunday. He was a member of the Carbon County Savages football team.

According to his obituary, he was a graduate of Lehighton Area High School and worked many different jobs. He lived life to the fullest, always joking and happy and would always give you the shirt off of his back. Kyle was loved by many and impacted numerous lives in a positive way.

He loved riding his Harley with his motorcycle club and he was also in the Lehighton Softball League.
