Schuylkill football Scholar Athletes

The Schuylkill Chapter No. 25 of the National Football Foundation could not hold its 59th annual Schuylkill County Scholar Athlete Banquet due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the organization did honor each of the 14 Schuylkill County Scholar Athletes with the presentation of a certificate, as well as a blue blazer with an NFF insignia patch. Mahanoy Area Scholar Athlete Daniel Lawrence was selected the overall winner for 2020. Lawrence is attending the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he plans to major in electrical engineering and wrestle for the Black Knights. The three local scholar athletes are Marian’s Lucca Stroia, Panther Valley’s Blake Morgans and Tamaqua’s Nate Boyle.
